The Sondai Fort Trek is 9 km away from Kajrat. It was named Sondai in the name of Goddess Sondai and it is a sacred place. Sondai Fort Trek is known as the hidden beauty of Kajrat. The preferable season to visit this hidden beauty is the monsoon.
Sondai Fort does not have the proper wall so the tree above the temple is considered as the wall which will always be ready for protection. It provides the view of the surrounded mountains by 360. Sondai Fort gives a fantastic view of Irshalgad, Morbe Dam, Matheran, Prabalgad Fort, Karnala Fort, Songiri Fort and Rajmachi Fort. Trekkers can start their trek from Sondewadi village which is the base village of Sondai Fort.

The trail will take an hour of your day to reach the Sondai fort. You should be active and aware while trekking as the rock steps become slippery during the monsoon season. You can choose the Sion-Panvel Expressway or the Eastern Express Highway while you are leaving from Mumbai. If you are coming from Pune then you can also reach this fort but have to change your way two times. You can also choose your vehicles.
